«For these Winter Olympic Games, you’ve really organized things well,» says Ed Bastian, CEO of Delta Air Lines, the world’s largest airline by revenue and market capitalization. He arrives at a hotel in Milan between meetings, wearing the U.S. national team tracksuit, and speaks with Corriere della Sera for more than half an hour in this exclusive interview.

In a few weeks you will also be flying to Olbia, Sardinia. Delta’s offering to Italy shows no signs of slowing down. 
«We are the largest airline currently serving the US and Italy in terms of number of seats in the market, and we’ve always had very strong demand here. As you know, we used to work with Alitalia. The reason for the growth at Delta is because we’re flying our own metal into the marketplace.»
