Chef Mario began his career working in a restaurant in northern Italy in 1967. He was then enlisted in the Italian Army. Mario worked in their kitchen and within a short while became the head chef. Once his service was completed, Mario immigrated to Canada. He continued his career at Mama Mia's Ristorante Italiano located on Robson and Burrard from 1972 to 1977. That same year, He went on to open Dario's Ristorante Italiano located in the Italian Cultural Center. Mario also worked at the first La Pergola Ristorante in Richmond for 17 years as a head chef.
Throughout Mario's career he has worked for some of Greater Vancouver's best Italian restaurants but has always dreamed of opening his own business. Chef Mario is now pleased and excited to invite you all to his new restaurant which he operates with his wife Isabella and his daughter Rosa. It is called "Da Mario" which means "From Mario". Together the family makes handrolled 'melt in your mouth' Gnocchi, Lasagna and Cannelloni.
